Online information session | True Patriot Love presents a Himalayan Expedition in 2018

Time: 12:15 - 1 p.m. EST

Location: This seminar has already occurred. Recap can be found here

Presented by: True Patriot Love Foundation

In April 2018, on the 65th anniversary of Sir Edmund Hillary’s iconic first ascent of Mount Everest, True Patriot Love (TPL) is hosting an expert-guided trip to Mount Everest Base Camp and the 20,000-foot summit of Nepal’s Lobuche East.

This team will follow in the footsteps of great explorers before them including rare contact with the Sherpa culture that can only be accessed through guide Peter Hillary (Sir Edmund’s son and a two-time Everest climber).

Building on the success of previous TPL expeditions, this trip will bring together active and veteran members of the Canadian Armed Forces with business and community leaders. Working as a team, participants will face physical, emotional, and mental roadblocks together.

Presenters:

  • Ben Webster, Expedition Leader and Filmmaker, will reference his personal summits, show footage of past climbs and share details of the 2018 itinerary
  • Jaime Wilson, Chief Development Officer at TPL, will speak about the community engagement with Canadian veterans and the fundraising aspect of the trip
  • Rob Turner, personal trainer at Medcan, who will explain the Kickstart training component to prepare you for this physical and mental challenge

All skill levels welcome:  A training camp will be provided for all participants, so no previous mountaineering experience necessary.

E-mail Megan McDonald at TPL mmcdonald@truepatriotlove.com for more information.
